Cobalt-base alloys are highly resistant to corrosion and heat, which is due to the extraordinary properties of cobalt. These alloys contain large amounts of carbon, chromium and carbide components such as tungsten. <\/span><\/p>\n

These alloys are very hard and retain their hardness at very high temperatures, which makes them difficult for machining. Investment casting is usually the most cost-effective way to make cobalt-base parts. These kind of parts are very durable and last a long time.<\/span><\/p>\n

This makes cobalt-base parts very useful in many industries including medicine, aerospace, automotive, military and other applications where oxidation is a problem and high strength is required. For example, in the medical industry, cobalt investment castings are used to make orthopedic implants that do not wear out over time. Also high temperature environments, such as turbocharged turbines and jet turbines are the perfect place for cobalt-base parts<\/span>. <\/span><\/p>\n
